BlenTex's paraffin dispersant is a proprietary blend of hydrocarbons used to liquify paraffin build up which is commonly found in flow lines, storage tanks, and in crude oil pipelines. They create a molecular bond with crude oil and will not be required to be separated from the crude before it is processed through the refining process. BlenTex's paraffin dispersant will also lower the pour point of the treated crude which improves pumpability of the treated crude.
Corrosion and Scale Inhibitor/Dispersant
C&S Inhibitor is a neutral pH, biodegradable product that is soluble in water, acids, or bases and compatible in cationic, anionic, nonionic, and amphoteric systems. C&S Inhibitor breaks down large iron deposits and disperses into smaller particles, making removal easier. C&S Inhibitor penetrates & disperses hydrocarbons coating all solids, and inhibits the formation of additional solids from aggregating, including iron and other types of scale depositions.
C&S Inhibitor is utilized as a salt water disposal additive that aids in dispersing solids and hydrocarbons, while preventing scale from forming due to dissimilar waters. Filter life is greatly prolonged with the addition of AID-26. C&S Inhibitor can be added to HCl at rates between 3 & 50 gpt of total treatment. By adding to HCl, C&S Inhibitor helps with the dispersion of non-acidic solids and hydrocarbons, which enhances HCl’s efficacy. When mixed with water, C&S Inhibitor can be squeezed into the formation, batch treated, or continuously pumped down the annulus to keep downhole pumps clear of debris, thus reducing the chance of sticking. Compatibility and emulsion tendency tests should be run as with all added chemicals.
Micro-Organisms in Oil and Gas Production Systems can cause significant problems in 3 major ways:
a.) Corrosion of Steel
b.) Plugging of equipment and
c.) Souring of crude systems.
The 3 main types of microbe growths are algae, fungi and bacteria. Bacteria cause most of the problems in our industry today. Today’s Industry has long used THPS (Tetrakis (hydroxymethyl) phosphonium sulfate) as the go to for biocide water treatment. THPS is an environmental friendly bactericide with good water solubility, low solidifying point, stable chemical performance, long shelf life, high-efficiency, wide-spectrum etc. However, recent tariffs on China have changed the cost for using this chemical and it’s no longer a dominant market.
BlenTex can make a unique Biocide specific to your needs. We have options and need to know more about your crude and produced water types. We need a starting point to combat bacterial growth activity and specifically anaerobic bacteria formation, the most common in the oilfield being Sulfate Reducing Bacteria (SRBs). An alternative to THPS is Glutaraldehyde and its dosage rate varies with the type of water, with heavy brine requiring the dosage rates of 200 ppm or more. Glutaraldehyde can be discharged to the environment and is effective at killing SRBs. Glutaraldehyde is a readily biodegradable product.
To assure quality and accuracy in our work, BlenTex will use the normal Biocide selection process recommended by the references of the National Academy of Corrosion Engineering (NACE) International – Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion and Bio-fouling in Oilfield Equipment, TPC3 1990 and the NACE Field Monitoring of Bacterial Growth in Oilfield Systems.
H2S-4209 is a liquid hydrogen sulfide scavenger. Hydrogen sulfide removal from gas streams and water handling systems. H2S-4209 selectively reacts with H2S gas and is not affected by carbon dioxide and other acid gases present in normal quantities.
Reaction product is water-soluble and leaves no solids in vessels and handling equipment. H2S-4209 is effective both in tower and continuous injection. H2S-4209 dosage rates will be determined by your chemical representative based on gas volumes, hydrogen sulfide levels and available processing equipment.
Wireline Grease- Biodegradable
BlenTex IB Biodegradable Wireline Grease Seal is an excellent wireline lube and sealant with 4 times the inhibitor as regular wireline greases on the market today. The BlenTex IB Biodegradable Wireline Grease Seal cohesive and adhesive properties prevent wellsite contamination. Once the grease is injected through a control head unit, it affects a seal, reduces friction, and provides protection against corrosion during wireline operations. Wire-Seal IB is effective under high shock conditions for the reduction of drip and spatter. The grease will protect the complete braided wireline against the corrosive effects of acids, caustics, most chemicals, and saltwater.
Wireline Grease- Non-Biodegradable
BlenTex Wire-Seal WL wireline grease is blended with high quality hydrotreated
Group II base stock mineral oils and is designed to seal and have excellent lubricity characteristics for wireline, wire rope and cables. The BlenTex Wire Seal WL wireline grease is engineered to inhibit the corrosive effects of H2S, acids, brine water, caustics, and CO2. It has excellent seal protection, reduces friction and provides protection against corrosion. BlenTex Wire-Seal WL wireline grease also has cohesive properties to prevent drips, splatters ,and is blended with corrosion inhibitors to effect long range protection to the wireline.
Honey Cut cleaner/degreaser is an optimized, readily biodegradable, non-caustic soda surfactant blend for water-based degreasing technology. Honey Cut is efficient for cleaning wireline grease/honey oil used in pressure control. Honey Cut can replace a solvent based cleaner. The powerful cleaning performance of Honey Cut is used as a concentrate for the listed applications.

Bio-Suds is an optimized, readily biodegradable, zero VOC, no caustic soda surfactant blend for water-based degreasing. Bio-Suds is efficient for cleaning organic soils, such as grease and oil. Bio- Suds can often replace a solvent for cleaning. The powerful and versatile cleaning performance of Bio-Suds can be used in a wide range of applications.
Mud Buster is a general maintenance and floor cleaner that provides excellent performance in a variety of general maintenance applications. Mud Buster can be mixed with water before use. Concentrations will vary based upon the type and amount of dirt to be removed and method of application.

Scale deposition Is prevalent in producing wells and production equipment and is a major problem to operators. Scale deposits reduce the efficiency of the system by restricting the flow or plugging the equipment. Scale deposits are usually deposits of inorganic salts, which decrease in solubility as a result of oxidation increase in temperature, or decomposition with increase in temperature. The scaling components of water and corrosion by-products are: The 3 Most Common Scales are: Calcium Carbonate, Calcium Sulfate and Barium Sulfate

Scale typically deposits in Elbows, Dump Valves, Baffle Plates, Downhole Pumps, Perforations, Chokes and Surface Pumps. Hydrochloric Acid is used heavily in the oil and gas industry today primarily to cut scale build up in these pipes and assemblies. In addition, operators use acids to open reservoir pores and enhance porosity and stimulate reservoirs to increase production.
BlenTex has a new Synthetic Acid that does the same work for penetrating scale and breaking it down, but is able to reduce the reaction time offering greater safety in using acid all together. Using HCL can be hazardous and when pipes and equipment are placed in Acid solutions, they can bubble and boil off and splatter which is hard to avoid. Using a Synthetic acid with a slightly slower reaction time in the chemical agent could help assure adequate time is available to get to a wash station and rinse the chemical, whereas pure HCL will react quickly and burn instantly.
All of our scale inhibitors are water soluble, and therefore they should be added continuously to be effective. A number of analyses can be performed on water samples to determine exactly what type of scale is deposited and id the causes for scale deposition.
At a minimum the following analyses should be performed on water samples:
Ph and Water Temperature at Time of Sampling
Maximum Temperature of Surface Facility
Temperature of Water at time of Sampling
Dissolved Carbon Dioxide
The lab work could then reference the Stiff Davis Index to consider barium and calcium sulfate solubilities and maximum possibilities to be listed for a final report.
